Navigation:  Glossary Index >====== multilevel index ============ To speed up access to a rage table or data file, a multilevel index functions as an index to an index. For example, index level one could contain pointers to four subindexes which respectively index entries beginning with A-E, F-L, M-R, and S-Z. This example describes a classic B-TREE index structure. ====== Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page
