The Dictionary Editor allows you to quickly add a data file to the dictionary by creating a data definition based on an existing data file.

1.With the Dictionary Explorer dialog active, select Import Tables from the DCT Explorer toolbar as shown:

The Table Import Wizard dialog displays.

2.From the Select Server drop list, select the appropriate import source. You can import tables directly, or select another dictionary as the import source.

3.Press the ellipsis button to the right of the Select Dictionary entry. The Select Database drive dialog appears. Prompts will vary here based on the type of input source (Dictionary, SQL Source, or ISAM table).

4.The Dictionary Editor imports the file definition(s). Double-click on any of the imported tables to edit any properties if needed.

The data file is added to the dictionary, along with its field and key definitions.
