Grid Options are located in the IDE menu by selecting the **Tools** {{c6h0013.jpg|C6H0013.jpg}} **Options** menu item. In the //Options// dialog, slect the //Forms Designer// option, and the //Grid Options// setting as shown below:

This allows you to set the spacing between grid points. When you place a new control in the report, you can then optionally force it to the grid points with the **Report Designer **{{c6h0013.jpg|C6H0013.jpg}}** Format **{{c6h0013.jpg|C6H0013.jpg}}** Align **{{c6h0013.jpg|C6H0013.jpg}} **To Grid** command. You can also simply right-click on the control and select the **Align to Grid** popup menu item.

Set the spacing by typing in values for the **Width** and **Height** spacing. The measurement units depend on the default for the report, as set in the **[[report properties.htm|Report Properties]]** dialog. The //Grid Options// dialog tells you the minimum value ( 1/20th inch, or 2 millimeters).

The **Snap Lines** option places the control in alignment with other controls using line indicators as shown below:
